Chasing the Moon

“I’m coming to get you, stay there.”
“Is this what disassociating feels like?”

I wondered if people who disassociate are capable of remembering what that or other terms mean. I’d never taken even a cursory course in human psychology but plenty abnormal psychology is depicted on the TV show House, and I’ve watched that through several times. I wondered if people who disassociate are capable of remembering episodes of House. I wondered how much Walter White had to research fugue states to properly fake one. I wondered if that was what was next. Either the fake one or the real one. I wondered what all of this wondering meant, eyes staring upward to appear focused on something, but I couldn’t even find the moon.

Do you know how it feels to chase a moon and not be able to find it? What other confirmation do we have at a certain hour of the evening that we’ve got our feet planted on earth?

“Stay there. I’m coming.”
